MESAGE FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENTS

I welcome you to Kipsoen Technical and Vocational college (KTVC), the collegeof Choice in Home of Champions, which makes the climate conducive for studies.

As a Department, we work closely with schools, staff and student leaders to enhance the quality of college experience for our students, hence making KTVC a student centered college and a home away from home

Most of our activities are carried out through students’ clubs, whose main aim is to nurture individual students’ talents, facilitate exposure and networking opportunities with other institutions and organization outside the college. Currently there are 3 active registered clubs and associations which are required to remit annual work plans and reports to the Dean of Students through their Patrons. Requirements for registration of clubs are as follows:

  • Relevant Name for the club/association
  • A patron
  • A constitution
  • List of interim leaders for a new club
  • A description of the club activities
  • Mission and vision
  • Goals and objectives

    • The Department is composed of the following sections: Guidance and Counseling, Games and Sports, Chaplaincy, Students Accommodation and Students Catering. The activities of the Kipsoen Technical & Vocational College Students Organization (KTVCSO) are also coordinated through the Department. Our key functions are based on the activities of these sections.

    Our major activities include:

  • Enforcing university rules and regulations among the students
  • Processing students loan forms, leave of absence, letters of introduction and recommendations
  • Facilitating financial aid through linking students to relevant governmental and non-governmental sponsorship programs
  • Registration of clubs and associations
  • Processing welfare disciplinary cases
  • Running the work study programs for needy students
  • Talent scholarships for creative arts and games/sports
  • Cultural week (Tamasha)
  • KTVC Elections
  • KTVC Entertainments, including KTVCSO nights, beauty pageants, Mr. & Miss. Valentine’s Day among others
